AccessAbilities EXPO
by Nancy Hughes

T
he AccessAbilities EXPO will be held June 15th & 16th in York, Pennsylvania. This expo will feature manufacturers of adaptive equipment, assistive products and devices. Service-related companies and organizations will also be exhibiting. There will be entertainment, speakers, demonstrations and job recruiters. Organizers of the show say this is the only show of it's kind south of New Jersey.

Entertainment will include a wheelchair-basketball game between the Maryland Ravens and the Chairiot Express (Lebanon, PA team) on Saturday, June 16th and a professional sit-down comic/author from California, Jeff Charlebois. He will be doing a comic routine on both days of the show. Job recruiters from EDS, a well-known information technology company with many locations throughout the Mid-Atlantic, will be in attendance.

A 1936 Plymouth in the process of becoming an accessible Hot-Rod will also be on display as a "work in progress". There will be a silent auction, which will benefit local non-profit agencies which assist children with disabilities. There will also be an array of speakers with a variety of subjects throughout the two-day show. A complete listing of speakers and events will be available closer to the time of the show.
