Despite the fact that companies continue to commit to diversifying their workforce, unemployment among the 17 million working age Americans with disabilities remains at 70 percent. Of the 12 million who are not employed, 79 percent would prefer to be working. This pool of 12 million eager, qualified and employable individuals remains largely untapped by corporate America.
HirePotential was specifically created to address this issue. Launched in October of 1999, HirePotential successfully applies 50 years of combined team experience in the staffing and disability services industries, placing numerous individuals with disabilities in private sector jobs. The company also helps some of the largest companies in America improve disability awareness, enhance their diversity initiatives, streamline accommodations, accessibility and compliance processes, and open their doors to all job seekers.
HirePotential is the brainchild of Kelly Egan (President) and Sheridan Walker (Vice President of Recruiting and Development). Prior to starting HirePotential, Walker worked extensively in physical rehabilitation services. This experience spans trauma to post-acute outpatient treatment. Walker held positions including treating therapist, supervisor, program Manager, and account executive. She has been a featured lecturer and trainer, speaking on many topics related to disabilities, accessibility and physical rehabilitation. She is currently serving as an Executive Board Member of the Colorado Business leadership network and is certified with the American Board of Disability Analysis.
Kelly Egan spent 15 years in management positions in the staffing industry. Just prior to starting HirePotential, she was the Vice President of Workforce Recruiting and Development for Alternative Resources Corporation. She was responsible for overseeing the operations of 4,000 employees and $400 million in revenue.
HirePotential understands the challenges that job seekers with disabilities face today. The company strives to remove barriers to employment by making sure that employers are prepared to effectively hire and manage people with disabilities.
