16 Candles for the ADA
By Brewster Thackeray

Dear Friends:

I am writing to invite you to celebrate the 16th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act at AARP. "16 Candles for the ADA", the premiere event of the newly-launched AARP Disability Interest Resource Group, will be held in the Brickfield Center, 601 E Street NW, 11:00 to 1:30 on Thursday, July 27, 2006. Special guest panelists for this event include former U.S. Attorney General Dick Thornburgh, former Congressman Tony Coelho, National Organization on Disability President Michael Deland, American Association of Persons with Disabilities CEO Andrew Imparato, ADA Watch/National Coalition for Disability Rights President Jim Ward, and Ms. Wheelchair America 2005 Juliette Rizzo. AARP Chief Diversity Officer Percil Stanford and representatives of the Disability Interest Resource Group will also participate. There will be a light buffet and ADA Anniversary Cake.

We have limited seating, so I would appreciate if you can RSVP by Tuesday, July 25. If there are others to whom you would like me to extend the invitation, please let me know their names and e-mails and so long as space permits, I will reach out to them as well.

Best regards,

Brewster
